Some of My Favourite Poetry & Quotes
Today in this Blog Post I will be sharing with you some of my favourite pieces of poetry, quotes and writings from books, which I love to write down in my journal.
If you enjoy any of the poetry or quotes below, please feel free to check out my Pinterest to see these Pins in my “Poetry and Quotes” board and find more like the ones below! Also, in my “Books & Writers” board you will find quotes by my favourite writers like, L.M.Montgomery, Jane Austen and many more!
I love this little poem about the word Quaint by Amy Ludwig VanDerwater. It sums up the “Vintage Life” I love – full of fanciful dreamings and the way of life back in the past.
When I read this I can see myself in a little farmhouse or cottage on a lovely summer evening with the candles lit and roses growing up the walls in all the shades of pinks and reds!
Here is a lovely quote from the first book of the Anne of Green Gables series by L.M. Montgomery, who is one of my FAVOURITE writers.
I love all of the Anne of Green Gables books (which I have read many times over) and the Emily of New Moon series which L.M. Montgomery also wrote!
Have you read any of L.M. Montgomery books? And are you a fellow lover of Anne of Green Gables?
I love this quote I found on Pinterest as it explains me and my personality so well, I feel like I was totally meant to live in the past! Either in Anne of Green Gables time, Laura Ingalls Wilder time or in the 30s and 40s!!
This photo of me was taken on a summer’s day before going to a party, can you spot Amy the neighbour’s horse in the background?
Roses are my favourite flowers (closely followed by cornflowers!) so I do love this beautiful poem by Robert Burns.
In the Anne of Green Gables books, Anne always talks about “Kindred Spirits”, special friends who understand you and know what you are thinking!
I love this poem by William Wordsworth as I have very happy memories reading it out loud with or by my Grandma. This was one poem that she especially loved and now she has handed it down to me to love.
I can imagine William Wordsworth sitting on his couch and seeing the host of golden daffodils dance by the lake in his imagination!
