How amazing! I live in the desert and I guess there are a few wildflowers during a very short period of time, but your pictures are making me want to pack up everything and move to France! Gorgeous.
Thank you for your lovely comment Suzanne! Wow, it must be lovely living in the dessert, but I bet it can get very hot there!! I hope you are able to see some wildflowers this summer, what type of flowers do you normally see in the dessert? France is gorgeous and I have been amazed at how many different wildfowers I have seen on my walks here. 😊♡
Unfortunately I’m not a huge fan of the desert! It is very, very hot. As for flowers, a lot of cacti and succulents actually bloom very beautifully for a short time. The spring here is very colorful, everything usually dies out in the summer, and then fall tends to be a short second spring.
Oh I just loved reading this!! I have felt so pulled to learn how to identify flowers/plants/birds the last few months. This was so inspiring to read! xx
Thank you for your lovely comment Emily! I am so glad that you enjoyed reading my post about the wild flora & fauna I have seen. I hope you were able to identify some flowers that you have seen on your walks this July! 😊♡
The first butterfly pictured looks like what we in Ohio call a fritillary (which is a great example of onomatopoeia, yes? 😄) I just adore your nature notebook spotted in the one photo 💚 You do such a great job with it!
Thank you for your lovely comment Meg!💕 I was looking at my butterfly book and the butterfly pictured did look similar to a fritillary, but there were soooo many different types of fritillary butterflies that I got confused! 😂 I think I need some more practice on my butterfly identifying skills! 🦋
These are absolutely delightful, it's so amazing how you were able to identify the wildflowers & grasses and the butterflies & insects! Thank you for this reminder to slow down and be more observant of the natural world. This post has inspired me to learn more about my local flora & fauna!
Thank you Ramya for your lovely comment! 😊 I am so glad you enjoyed reading about my local wildflowers and insects I have seen and I hope you get to spend some down time searching for wildflowers too. It is very relaxing, especially on a warm sunny day! ☀️♡
Okay, I may not be correct with the white one but it could be a type of bed straw, maybe northern bedstraw. The purple one I’m pretty confident is Heal-All. 😊
Thank you for your comments and your help with identifying wildflowers! 💐
I think it could be Northern Bedstraw too as I have looked up some photos and they look similar. I wasn't even sure where to start with identifying that one lol! 😂 Fabulous, I will add the new names to my list, thank you for your help! 😊♡
Just amazing the number you have discovered!!! And it's so lovely to sit down with books and actually learn the names. I wish Grandma were here; she would have loved to hear about this. I'm sure she's looking down, thrilled that you're continuing her own passion in keeping the country ways alive. Simply gorgeous.💕🌸🙏🏻
Thank you for your lovely comment Ma! 🥰 I have enjoyed looking through Grandma's old flower and butterfly books and finding slips of paper in-between the leaves with lists of the flowers she had seen when she went out for walks. So glad you enjoyed reading! X 🌼

The purple one with the moth that is!
The purple one you have on the paper I think could be bugleweed
Thank you! There is so much of it here and it is everywhere, but I couldn't seem to find out what it was. 😊
